La roca!

Jaxson started Soccer!

All the little boys look as adorable as I'd imagined in their shin gaurds and soccer socks:)
His team is named the RED DRAGONS...and they couldn't have been more excited about their name!

---

We had been building it up for weeks...so although a fun time, I don't think it had a chance of living up for the little man:) haha.  It was just TOO HOT! He couldn't figure out why it was supposed to be fun...but instead he was running around in 100 degree heat being cooked alive..and wearing layers of clothing and knee high thick socks. Poor thing. I couldn't have done it...so I think he did fabulous!

---

I realized something about Jax...that I've always known...but situations like this really make it stand out to me. It's crazy to think that my little boy has his own individual spirit and personality. I am really starting to see his lately. He has such a tender heart and cares SOOOO deeply about what me and Jarom (but more so me) think of him. I have always been so proud of him and happy with his effort...but I can tell that he wants soo badly to make me happy. It was so sweet...yet heartbreaking at the same time.

Jarom kept saying, "Just go play soccer. Have fun! Don't look at mom."

He spent the entire game...other than a brief few moments, staring right at me and giving me a thumbs up. He was watching my every reaction to see if I was proud or happy with him.
He reminds me of someone I know. ME!

I was such a little worry wort. I wanted to do everything so well:)

I want him to push himself...but it is wayyyy more important to me that he has fun and enjoys himself!

---

He is very good at sharing and I am kind of strict about being friendly and kind when he has friends over...so when they blew the whistle to start the game and Jarom and I both started screaming "STEAL THE BALL!!!!" it was just a tad too overwhelming. It broke my heart. He did sooo good...but in the middle of the game he ran toward Jarom, climbed on his lap and the tears flooded his cheeks. He said "I just can't handle this!"

It was the worst.

I realized how contradictory it all must seem to him.
I tell him to be nice and take turns and share and don't steal toys...and he is a super obedient child. THEN...I start screaming at him to steal the ball from another kid.
It threw his little tender-heart for a loop, that's for sure.

I want to cry right now even thinking about it.

---

He definitely has his size going for him. Again, just like in T-ball, he is the biggest on the team! In fact, he was bigger than any of the kids on the other team as well:) He is fast and such a good little player...we just need to teach him that being aggressive during the game is different than being "mean".

Although I was a tad frustrated DURING the game...I am so proud of him and feel lucky to be his mommy! He is such a sweet boy and I am so glad that he cares about what I think:) I don't know how long that will last...but I am sure happy to know that he has a desire to make me happy and is such an obedient little guy.

-------
We are only 48 hours away from a vacation. Hallelujah. I didn't think Jarom was gonna make it:)
He has been working like a crazy person and has definitely earned a week of fun.
He is so excited to spend some time with the little man.

We are headed to Tahiti Resort...our little family tradition each summer.
It is the perfect relaxing quick getaway for us when we don't want to go TOO far.
The kid gets his own bedroom, TV with Dvd player for movies, sandy beach, lazy river...the works.

I actually was scrapbooking our 2010 summer trip just the other day:) I wish I wasn't soooo behind on my scrapbooking....but hey, it got done BEFORE our 2011 trip so that's all that matters!

I hope to do some shopping, eat LOTS, take Jaxson swimming, hit the M&M factory and visit Yogurtland daily:) Oh my. I love it. Did I mention my Brother and Sister-in-law just started Law School in Vegas! Our trip will include some time with them and hitting up some of the delicious local food places they've discovered.

----

Our life get's unfair-busy when we return. Something every single day til mid-october. I am not lying.

That is why 1 of the 100 things on my to-do list tomorrow is buy a few books to take...because I truly plan on laying there, eating and reading for days. It will be up to Jarom to do most of the waterplay with the little man:) I most likely will consume a sam's club size box of red vines as well.

Preschool and Tumbling start the morning after we return! I have my work cut out for me this year....with 24 3-4 year olds:) Wow. It should be an adventure...that's for sure. I won't even have time to unpack!!! Now that's playing until the last possible minute.

I have tons of ideas and lots of cute things planned for these little ones.
I am hoping to stay on the ball enough to post about them regularly so you can make some of these activites at home for your own children:)

Back to School Time feels so good!
New routine, new goals & lots to keep the kids busy.

Here's to my last week of SUMMER!
Wahoo.

Love, Me
