Build-A-Bear...

Today we kicked off the birthday weekend by taking Jaxson to Build-A-Bear. For those who haven't been there.....GO! It is the cutest place on earth. I was in total heaven...things like this totally fit me:) I'm a kid at heart I guess....
Jaxson's room is filled with monkeys, giraffes and frogs....so I did something different and chose a cute classic Teddy! Jaxson pressed the peddle himself and filled his teddy with stuffing....which he thought was pretty cool! We made him extra soft and squishy....just perfect for snuggling!
Jaxson even kissed the Heart before we placed it inside the bear...it was darling since he has just learned to give gisses. BIG, SLOBBERY, GOOBERY, OPEN MOUTHED KISSES:)

Then teddy got a bath. Dad helped out with this part. I think Jaxson was a bit overstimulated. That store had SO much to choose from and SO many bright colors. At first I think he wondered what was going on...but before long he was giggling out loud!
Sitting in the bath with teddy.....
All clean....now for the clothes shopping...Mom's expertise!
KISSES AGAIN.....I love that he understands what kisses are. He won't cuddle very often
anymore...so this totally makes up for it.
To follow the theme of our B-day party....what better to make than a "baseball bear"? Here we are in the special Bear dressing room:) It was so adorable. We got a little baseball uniform...Cleats (darling by the way) a baseball hat, a bat and a baseball and glove. He was decked out and ready for a game....
Jaxson was SO funny while we were dressing him. He, of course, noticed the bears baseball hat FIRST thing. I took TONS of pictures....so I couldn't post all of them....but it was hilarious. Jaxson kept taking the hat off of the bear and placing it on his head and leaving it there. It was obviously too small...but he didn't mind. I think he thought it was HIS Cubs Hat. Everyone in the store, employees and fellow shoppers alike, were laughing hysterically at him. He was quite the hit! Then of course he saw that the Bear had his own Baseball....and the fun really began. We had to stop and play catch for 10 minutes to avoid a meltdown. He's a total boy. His dad was pleased.

THE FAMILY
Jarom has been so busy lately with school, applying for the Utah Bar Exam, Trial Team competition (they compete in Denver next weekend), and Law Review Board. I miss him terribly and have had a rough few months since Christmas...only seeing him a few hours a week at the most. This semester has been the hardest by far...for me at least. Schooling isn't for the weak...and I truly believe the saying "only the strong survive" because I am about to DIE!

I was so glad when he was able to take a 2 hour break today and spend some time with us. Only 60 days and counting and we will be home free. Graduation HERE WE COME! I miss my husband...and can't wait to see him again. I am TERRIBLY proud of him and quite amazed at his ability to balance so many things. I'm quite certain that Build-A-Bear wasn't HIS idea of the perfect way to spend his only 2 hour break in the past month. He was awake until 3 a.m. last night writing a midterm....and had trial team practice until 9 p.m. tonight! Anyhow...sorry about the tangent....it was just so special to spend time with them both today! Soon enough we will get the opportunity to see a lot more of each other! Thank goodness....
Tah Dah! Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen??? I love it and it looks adorable in his room with all his baseball stuff. It will be a perfect memory of this special FIRST BIRTHDAY!

I love those Build a bears. Caleb and Claire both have one that we decided to give to each of our kids on their first Christmas. I'm not a big fan of stuffed animals but every kid should have at least one so we decided to have a "special" teddy for them to remember their first christmas. For Calebs me and John both said we love you in the bear and then for Claires we have Caleb and us saying we love Claire individually. Each kids in the family will have a longer saying to have all of the older siblings say something. I think build a bears were such a clever idea and I love the baseball theme for his birthday.

I totally LOVE Build-A-Bear! I made Rob take me there for our first Valentine's Day so I could make my own...Ms. Anna Kate. Now Bobby gets to enjoy both of our bears. I think I might venture into that next year...maybe a golf theme. :) What fun memories for Jax!
