HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

We had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year!
****
We got together with my extended family....all 35 of them... and p-a-r-t-i-e-d:) It was so much fun...and I am soooooo glad that we live close to everyone again! The evening was spent eating, eating and eating....playing games, cards and Wii Olympics. I have a new favorite by the way. The Skiing on WiiFit is the best. I currently hold the record:) Nobody could come close. Hee hee.
Jarom and I are actually sore from competiting in the 100 meter race and the hurdles.
Ha ha ha. The butterfly stroke can also do some damage. You definitely feel that the next day.

Jaxson tried his first sour patch kid:)
I sure wish I could have captured his "sour face"....it was darling.
This is the best I could get:)

We all spent the night in SLC...and headed to Soldier Hollow for
New Years DAY!
Soldier Hollow is a tubing hill by Park City....and we had a blast.

Jaxson warmed up to the idea pretty quickly...and kept saying "VROOM VROOM" as we'd fly down the mountain. They told me he could ride on my lap....BUT...when we got up to the lift that pulls you up the mountain they told me he had to ride on his own tube. WHAT PEOPLE????? I was bit nervous....but he did great. He cried his head off when I threw him in the tube and it took off without me.
I might even go as far as saying he was "momentarily traumatized". Whoops:)

I was a bit stressed as I watched him getting pulled up the hill while simultaneously trying to climb out:)
I may or may not have said a few choice words....but all turned out well. ha ha.

..... and to top it off I got to meet up with my friend Brittany from Omaha:) I hate not living closer to her....but I am super glad she comes to visit often. I am SOOOOO looking forward to her coming up for Jaxson's 2nd Birthday Party in March.
Let the planning begin....
THEME THIS YEAR: CONSTRUCTION PARTY

****It at least gives me something fun to do during these horrible post-christmas winter months...I hate January and February*****

What a great New Year! I can't believe Jaxson is going to be 2. They grow up so quickly don't they. Solider Hollow looks like a blast, we're gonna have to try that before winters over.

YOU are the good one at the camera! i still don't know what the heck i am doing...at all! and photoshop? i just make a mess of stuff. a friend of mine here in DC is a photographer and promises to help me. ahhh!

i always love looking about all your holiday events. it gives me such great ideas and makes me want to do much better about celebrating and making memories like your mom has done for you. you have such a great mom. pam really always says how wonderful your mom is and cooks the best food and makes you feel so loved and at home....from the times she has been around her. :)

we made a connection! our friends know jarom's brother, shule (is that right?) from senator hatch's office. where does your father-in-law live when he is in dc?

how is jaxon liking nursery? probably better than bobby. he goes in good moments and bad...right now it is bad. OH...i just remembered too...i would love to see what you come up with for his next birthday. bobby is in LOVE with construction stuff. i might get more creative with a big party and such next year. who knows.

look at me write a novel...

Thanks for the advice you gave me on my blog! You really did make me feel better about the whole Law school decisions and reminded me that the most important thing to do about the decisions is to PRAY!! I need to do more of that. I have had a hard time lately letting the Lord guide me where I need to go, because I'm sure he would tell me to stay in school longer and I don't want to hear that. I'm stubborn and don't want to be in school for another 3 or 4 years. Caleb will be like 8 when we are done!! Its so frustrating to see everyone else your age moving on and getting out of school and buying houses and we are still SO far from that so it's hard to just rely on the Lord and let him tell you that you need to be in school for 4 MORE YEARS! It will be interesting to look back on this time in our lives 10 years from now and I will probably laugh at how stubborn I am being and wishing that I could go back to this time when my kids are little and we are dirt poor. I'm sure I will miss it in the end, but I can't wait for it to be over now! Isn't it funny how we do that? The grass is always greener on the other side! :)

Thanks for your advice.

You don't know me ... but you are on quite a few of my friends' blogs (I blog hop all the time.) I just have to say how much I love reading your blog! You are so funny and REAL. You say what all of us are thinking and it is great. I hope you don't mind strangers like me being nosy on you and your life ... but sometimes, your blog is all I need to make my day. Thanks!
