Den-tist Mama!

So.....my baby had his

FIRST DENTAL CLEANING

and document it I did!

****

With his 2nd birthday coming up in the next week...I have been going down the Checklist!

Dentist...Check

Pediatrician...Check

*****

It's a lot of work (and moolah:) making sure this kid is healthy, growing, learning and developing perfectly! I'm sure glad that I got the thumbs up from the docs...and that he is a smart little stinker:) He is the joy of my life...and I need another little boy ASAP.

***

I have to say...he is OBSESSED with brushing his teeth now and continually talks about Dr. Schweppe! The best Pediatric Dentist ever:) I remember referring my patients to him YEARS ago when I worked in Logan....so when it was my Jax's turn in the chair...I knew just who to call!

****

Dr. Schweppe gave him a bouncy ball and in doing so...
didn't realize he had instantly become his "IDOL".

***

Ball+My Jax=COMPLETE ADORATION AND LOVE.

He still walks around saying...."Den-Tist mama...he brush my teeth and gave me ball!"

****

His vocabulary is amazing. He calls me "honey" (like jarom does) 90% of the time now....and begs me to "Come here!" all day long. He says "Hello! my name is Jaxson!" to every single person we pass in Walmart! When he goes to the bathroom...he walks straight up to me and says "mama...I SOAKED! I need new diaper."

WHHAT???? Soaked??? What happened to, "mama...I peed!"
Where does he learn this stuff...or these words?
Anyhow....
toothpaste

I tried not to make a scene...or humilate myself by snapping 20 pictures. I got like 5...right after one another. But...you get the idea...and I will remember it forever:)

Checking out his "goodie bag"!!!

****

Complete with toothpaste, choo choo train toothbrush, dino flossers, and a bouncy ball:)

goodie sack

toothbrush

I know these pictures all look the same...but look closely at his hands...this was after he received the bouncy ball...and it was all smiles after that:)

bouncy ball

He is at such a fun age...and I am enjoying every minute. I know it will go by super quickly...so I focus on finding things each day to cherish and on spending a lot of time playing with him and smothering him. I honestly kiss the crap out of him daily.

****

It's a difficult thing. Strange actually. Being in a stage in which you can see things evolve because they are happening so fast! I know he's growing...people repeatedly tell me it will "FLY BY" and I hate it....I know it...and see it daily...but I can't stop it. Each day he learns so much...he is a different baby than the child I put to bed the night before. It is bittersweet for me. I cry often.

These pages were a lot of fun for me:)
Small story:
Today Jaxson woke up from his nap and I could hear him calling for me from his crib..."Mommy...Honey...Good morning!"
***
I ran downstairs, flipped on the light, swept him up in my arms and started singing my "Good Morning...Good Morning song" in the cheesiest tone I could muster up:)
***
I brought him upstairs and plopped him on the couch next to me...hoping he would sit still while I finished editing some pictures of the temple that I had taken. He started to fidget and beg to go outside to see the "heli-cocters". To distract him I asked if he wanted to see a picture of a puppy! I opened up google....and as I did he turned to me...grabbed my cheeks between his chubby little hands and said "NO mommy...I see the TEMPLE. It's Jesus' Home."
*****
I was a proud mommy today.
Who may or may not have cried for a few minutes.
Then realized how lucky I am to raise such an innocent and sweet little spirit.
****
I'm so glad he knows what I know.

St. George V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N

I decided something.

I LIVE for Vacation-(ing).

Which is kind of ironic...because EVERY VACATION that we (me and my significant other) have ever been on was forced upon me!!! I'm not kidding.

Both Hawaii trips: I bawled and said NO.

San Diego: Stressed for weeks about $$$
All trips....same routine.

**

It doesn't matter how big....or how small the trip or get-away--- I tend to immediately think of

MILLIONS of reasons why we should NOT go.

*****

I'll explain: being the eldest in my family I tend to be the "organized, reponsible, over-analyze EVERYTHING" type of a gal. It's completely boring...and exhausting. Which is why I married my opposite...this surprisingly solved the problem quite nicely:)

***

He is a bit more spontaneous and could care less about the moolah! I usually fight him pretty hard...get completely stressed out and make lists in my head of why it's not the "BEST TIME" for us to go! That being said...Jarom always wins, I always go....and I always have the most greatest and memorable time!

*****

I am so glad he makes me...and I'm glad that he pushes me to do it...
because time together with my family and creating lasting
memories for my children is all I want in life:)

****

I'm warning you....Pictures will follow...and by Pictures I mean approx. 20.

I am a little to lazy to make one of those slideshow thingy's right now...

bed

aaaahhhhh. Nothing like relaxing and watching the "game".

I'll start out by saying: He's getting TOO BIG....TOO FAST!!!

He enjoyed sleeping in King Beds (smack dab in the middle of his mom and dad might I add) for a solid week!

***

He acts just like his father...and says things to me that...to be honest... I don't really appreciate sometimes:) He has also learned to smack me on the tush as I pass occassionally. We are working on this one. He picks up on everything...and I learned on Wednesday afternoon that he can quote entire sections of "Horton Hears a Who". That movie has been in the car DVD player for almost 2 months...and the poor kid...I never remember to change it!!!

***

When he started quoting it and saying "BLESS YOU" afer I sneeze (I surely haven't gone as far as teaching manners yet...so I knew it wasn't me he learned that from:) I finally put "CARS" in...and plan on buying something of some educational value soon:)
Anyhow....

***

I've introduced you to his "fake smile" before....and here it is...in all it's glory!

This was after we told him we were going "swimming".

Excited: I think so.

smile

It didn't take him long to warm up to the idea (of swimming that is)...and he became a little brave for my liking. Jumping in from the side...almost drowning a few times...etc. I was exhausted and even more scared to raise a" ACTIVE-FEARLESS- MALE" child to adulthood.

***

Nothing scares him....and although those floaties look like a safety precaution... I ASSURE YOU...they do absolutely nothing. He would sink straight to the bottom if I wasn't there protecting him from HIMSELF:)

The Weather was DIVINE. We spent a lot of time at the Park...and Jaxson was able to get out a lot of energy. It was nice.

.....SWINGING.....

swing 2

St. George is always swarming with Helicopters from the local little aiport...and Jaxson LOVED every minute of it. He spent the entire Vacation pointing them out and shouting demands into the sky such as: "COME HERE HELICOPTER!!!"

....watching the 'copters from the slide....

slide

We stayed in a beautiful condo...which gave us the luxury of having a few bedrooms...and family room, fireplace, full-kitchen. It was great to feel "at-home" only in a much Warmer, Fun, No-Work, kind of way:)

We were also able to have BBQ's, Pizza Party's and Watch Movies which was a lot fun.

....Pizza party night.....

pizza

...and Swimming again!!!

Only thist time outside the resort...and relaxing in the HOT TUB per Jaxson's request.

****

I think he heard Jarom say it once...and now it's his new favorite thing! When we got home he immediately told his nanny about the "HOT TUB".

He spent lots of quality time with his Daddy!

Wrestling....getting tickled....laughing....

It was nice. Very nice.

...Another Day at the PARK....

playgournd

This park was awesome...and much nicer than anything little B.C. has to offer. Bummer...I could see us spending A LOT of time there:) This particular piece of park equipment helped with the "skateboard skills". Jaxson calls it a "surfboard".

skateboard

Having never seen this thing before...I had to give it a whirl.

....Harder than it looks....

me skateboarding

Jarom spoiled his little guy...and bought him several "baseball-esqe" items.

***

It was fun to see him get so excited about it. I liked it...because I PLAN to bring it up someday when I have a daughter and I'm purchasing completely unnecessary items....

JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT:)

****

Jax got a new Jersey, a baseball hat, a Chicago CUBS (my husbands obsession) bat and ball set, and a trip to the park to play Ball with his Dad.

****

I'm pretty sure it was as close to perfection as it could have been in his little 2 year old brain:) He even got an ice-cream cone to top off the perfect day.

basball

I just love love the following 2 pictures...although I think they make him look so much older than he is. It's hard to watch them grow up...BUT so much fun to experience every stage.

We shared a pint of Ben & Jerry's...of course.

Vacation=Ice-cream

....in my book....

...and we visited the St. George Temple where my parents were married. They were married on Feb. 17th....26 years ago on Tuesday....:)

***

I took this picture of it for my mom.

It is such a beautiful temple!

temple

....and Jarom talked to Jax about the Temple...whose house it is....and how special it is...

I sing him "I love to see the temple" almost every day before nap.

I think he knew...exactly what it was.

****

It was a great day

...and a wonderful end to a perfect little getaway...

...V-Day Celebrations...

Me and Jarom were "meant to be"!!!
Sounds very cliche' and cheesy....but it's true!
Here's why....
****
I have never laughed so hard, well.... (WE... have never laughed so hard) as when we realized that ......we had both carefully selected the EXACT SAME
V-DAY CARD for each other!
It was quite the coincidence...and actually very fitting of us, I must say. I have said MANY MANY times that we have the exact same sense of humor...and I am still amazed at how TRUE it is. It was the First thing that attracted us....and still what keeps us going strong after 5 years together. Laughter is truly the best medicine:)
***
The story is as follows:
We're driving out of town on Friday evening...Jarom turns to me and says...
...and I quote...
"Your card is awesome. I always choose better cards than you...it has AUDIO!"
(in an oddly excited voice...that reminds me of something off of Napoleon Dynamite)
I giggle...and quickly respond...."Whatever!...you are going to die when you read mine. I got it over a MONTH ago...it is hilarious and it also has AUDIO!"
***
The conversation continues....
Jarom: "Oh no. Is yours sqaure?"
Me: "You idiot. All audio cards are square! and yes...it is"
Jarom: "Does yours happen to have a cartoon character on it?"
Me: "Maybe. Why? does yours?"
Both of us: "HOLY CRAP! are you serious. It is hilarious, huh?
Me (explaining my choice): "I walked the card isle and read almost 30 cards honey...then decided to get the one that I felt was the most fitting of "YOU" .
Jarom (explaining his choice): "Really...I read a ton as well...then decided to get the one that was the most fitting of "ME".
****
WHAT????
My husband is so wierd:)
...But I love him. And I'm grateful that he's mine....all mine.
cards

...a V-day card with Homer Simpson....how romantic are we??? :)

card copy

...although our cards were the same...my Love Letter was better....I'm guessing from his grin!!!

...and yes I say grin...because that is about as excited as Jarom gets. I am serious. Those who know him...understand.

****

He got: Decor for his Work Office. It has horrible plain white walls...and I couldn't take it any longer. Bucket of Paint...Huge Mirror...Framed pictures of his son..(and me).

....and a Blackberry Curve...

He got me: a week with my fam in St. George....and a portable hard drive for all my pics and digi scrapbook stuff! Does this mean I can take all my crap everywhere with me and scrapbook in the car??? Why, yes it does:) Thanks honey. Love it.

******

To Back-Up a bit---both grandma's spent some time with Jax on Friday afternoon before we headed out of town...they smothered him with love and V-day gifts...

Gift from nanny Jeri.

jeri's gift

Gift from nanny Natalie.

mom's gift

The Monkey Balloon was a hit.

I'm so grateful he is SO LOVED:)

moms

gifts

Mommy (Me) had to lug all the celebratory decor and gifts to our various locations....since we did a lot of traveling over the past week. V-day morning was spent in Springville:)

So Cupid delivered to Springville this year.

couch

Jaxson is getting more and more excited over holidays.

.....As is his mother:)

The Large Bag of red, white and pink balloons for $1.00 was the best purchase of the year! Go me. His eyes lit up and he was in heaven. "BALLOON...BALLOON... he kept screaming."

I blew em' up...and tossed them all over the family room.

Him: Sheer Happiness!

Me: Mission Accomplished!

surprise

Can you tell by his face???

Don't judge my child from this picture, ok? He looks....well....I can't explain it. HOWEVER-I can admit that it was the most funny experience of my life...watching his expression! It's crazy how much he is growing (mentally) each day. Christmas was only 6 weeks ago...and his reaction was about 10 times more entertaining:)

He exclaims with excitement, "OH MY!" "CANDY...and BALLOONS!" "NO WAY!"

Where he learns these statements...I have no clue.

****

I also opened a bag of reeses hearts and dumped them all over the couch. Way to make a little go a long way, Kristin. It worked...can you see him hoarding them in his little hands.

***

He LOVED gathering them up...

Just wait til' Easter Jax....hunting eggs might throw you over the edge!

unwrapping

I stuffed his gift with tissue paper...like 10 pieces. He picked each one of them out one-by-one and threw it in the air. This kid is hilarious these days. I'm not sure where his little personality came from. He is so full of it.

shirt

Cupid brought a shirt...

sweethearts

...some candy....

frog
AND
...a giant stuffed frog...
which was a hit...because this kid can't get enough of frogs these days.
****
His new obsessions include:
airplanes/helicopters
frogs/ducks
dino's
guitars
balls/bats/hats (is still obsessed and always has been)
bikes
motorcycle's/four-wheelers
his blue snow boots
popsies (popsicles)
and
his Daddy
The last one on the list is darling...but is really starting to wear on me after an entire week with both of them!!! He...NOT EVEN ONCE...got sick of his dad and wanted his mommy. I tried not to pay attention to this minor detail...but it was impossible :(
Just wait til' he's old enough to know I AM THE ONE who bought those balloons. THEN we'll see who is his favorite Jarom...
Then..We'll...See:)
****
Pictures of our St. George Vaca coming soon. It was perfect weather...and was horrific coming home to literally 8-10 inches of more SNOW! I desperately need Spring to come....we went swimming... OUTSIDE...YESTERDAY...enough said. I come home to the fireplace running full-force and a house full of people with colds. What? No fair.
***
Lots of fun was had by all.
Mostly eating...bbq's...movies...shopping...swimming...and playing at the park.
Just got home a few hours ago...and tomorrow it's back to reality! Unpacking, laundry and being trapped indoors avoiding 12 degree weather.
***
Thanks honey for the wonderful vacation:) You know just when we need a "break" and I cherish the one-on-one time we get to spend with Jax:) It means the world.

...expressing a little love...

In light of the upcoming holiday...I thought I would express a little love to MY BOYS. One in particular who gets a LOT LESS attention on this thing than the other...
Mr. John Jarom Bishop
keeping it simple I will present them in list form:
1-He is hands down the most humble and kind person I know. This is a plus becuase I get to be a "front-row" student 24/7 to "HOW I SHOULD BE"...and I love being married to someone who makes me better.
2-He couldn't care less about what other people think of him, his choices, his actions, his job, etc. He is currently teaching me lessons about this. I am super grateful for his example.
3-His CONTINUAL Long-Term view of life! Examples include: Why we are actually here...why we work so hard...why what people think doesn't matter...etc. You should be present for one of these talks....I am completley amazed that he was born with such insight and the ability to choose one straight course and never waver from it:)
4-His eyes....that are blue most the time...and the most beautiful greenish color other times. His lashes that I would pay for!
5- His Quiet Confidence! This one is big...and precisely why I married him. I love that Jarom NEVER needs to be center of attention...he is NOT loud...he is not immature...he is just himself....and people are drawn to him.
ooooo....I just love that one.
6-He likes to spoon me. and even when he doesn't want to...he will.
7- He's a really involved Father. His number 1 love in life is Jaxson...although I like to think that WE (both me and jax) are equal on his list! He carefully interviewed and selected his job according to how demanding and time-consuming it would be....he prayed about it...and always puts time with his children and wife as a top priority when making decisions.
8-He encourages me to spend time with people who make me happy....who forgive and forget....and who help me be a better me.
9- He is competitive in SPORTS...and SPORTS only. Not in life. I think people sense this about him...and it is one of his TOP qualities in my book.
10-He is the MOST EASY-GOING person on the planet! At first my family was totally CONFUSED because they had never met someone who simply was 1-up for anything....2-never made a fuss....and 3-was completley gracious and giving 24/7. (I think that means that none of us are like that...rude).....But they soon realized how lucky they were to have him become part of our family. Everyone still likes him WAY better than me.
*****
I will stop at 10...and personally tell him the other 90 tomorrow...ON LOVE DAY:)
....but as most of you with a "Spouse" probably could.....I could list for hours....
****
I think holidays are wonderful.
I need to be reminded to express my LOVE more often......
and V-day came at the most perfect time:)
***
The love of my Life is taking me to Sunny St. George for LOVE DAY....and we are leaving in a few short hours. YAY! I was pretty excited about my gift to him...but he ALWAYS seems to out-do me. Rude.
***
See ya next Wednesday!!!
and...have a PERFECT HOLIDAY....
love, kris
oh yah. How could I forget....
I ALSO: couldn't be more in love with my son, my crazy 2 year old, my little cling-on, my constant companion....Jaxson John. Who was named after his Father and I pray daily will look up to his dad and Seek to adopt the above listed 10 qaulities. I will get an "A" in life if I can re-produce something similar to my husband. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!
***
MMMMWWWAHHHH! I love you both BISHOP BOYS...
and I can't wait to spend the weekend with both of you!

Monday, February 9, 2009

..It's ALMOST his B-day...

Time flies!
My little boy is almost 2 years old...and like most mothers...I am completley distraut about it. and emotional. and confused. and....I could go on for hours:)
Although...I must mention that I love this stage in it's entirety:) Everything about it is simply adorable and entertaining.
***
In just a few short weeks it will be official. We will be celebrating 1 week early, on Saturday Feb. 28th. (His ACTUAL B-day is on March 7 and (was) and IS one of the Best Days of My Life!!!
***
I cherish being a Mother...and being the mother of Jaxson John is especially rewarding. He's everything to me...and I Love him to pieces.
***
I said to Jarom the other day..."Do you think we should have a baby?"...he looked at me strange and quickly replied..."uh...I thought we just did?"
MEN. (although I totally feel the same:)
***
Anyhow---The party planning has been in full-swing at our house. I have the absolute best time thinking of things that will "MAKE HIS DAY MEMORABLE". He is REALLY into Tractors and Building blocks right now...SO...
Construction Party it is!!!
(this is the invitation...and I love how it turned out. The dump stuck and stop sign pop-off the paper and it's really bright and fun)
blog invite pic

I also include an "announcement" for all those family members that request pictures and can't make it to the party! It was a blast to make...and I scored when I found the most perfect blue/yellow old fashioned Tractor.

blog announcement pic

NOTE:...MANY MANY pictures will follow

BELOW are his 2 Year Pictures...

and because I am his mother... I love ALL of them and simply cannot choose:)

big yellow tire

at 2 years old...he's too busy to give me a smile or a even to hold still, so this picture was complete LUCK!

driving

Whenever I ask Jaxson to help with something I praise him by saying "Good job! You are such a Big Boy". He has now adopted this phrase and knows EXACTLY what things are for "big boys" rather than "little boys". When we came upon this most PERFECT old tractor...he gasped (my favorite thing he does right now) and scream "MOM, it's a BIG BOY tractor!"

***

He LOVED driving it.

Check out this tractor. I got soooooooo lucky. Their were several to choose from...

but It was instant LOVE when I saw this old fashioned FORD.

giggle

This picture pretty much sums up my little boy right now! Giggly...squishy..and completely sweet right now. OOOO---I just maul the crap out of him daily.

***

I will hate hate hate when he outgrows the stage in which it is "EXCITING" for his mother to smother him in kisses!

....and we can't even talk about the day he might like a girl better than me. Those of you with a "SON" will understand what I mean. They hold such a special place in your heart...and I'm wrapped around his finger...for...sure.

gq

Yes...this one will be HUGE and above his bed....

and if I can talk Jarom into it...maybe one in my room as well. hee hee

Dirt. Rocks.Throwing them at me.Giggling about it.

All of this ALSO defines my little guy right now.

Love this picture:)

and...yes, I have already scrapbooked them:)

It was too much fun to wait.

Plus...I can't sit still and always have to be busy....so I work on pages during movies. Me and Jarom watched 3 this weekend. Therefore...LOTS OF PAGES. Yay....
