Sunday afternoons...

There goes that tongue again!
Anyhow, Don't you just love Sunday afternoons...
we took a Wonderful three hour nap. We also love playing and wrestling in bed....jaxson was giggling the entire time!

JUST PRECIOUS!
Not sure what he was thinking...but isn't it cute!
me and mom....
First attempt at airplane with No Hands...

My new trick!

First off...warning that I'm posting a lot today! Monday is my brothers P-day and he LOVES to look at this blog...so I always try and give him several pictures on sunday afternoon!
Jaxson has a new trick....if that's what you can call sticking out your tongue ALL DAY LONG! If it weren't so cute...I would want him to stop. He seriously has had it hanging out for the past several days straight. Jarom and I are wondering why?....we're guessing he just "discovered" it and LOVES to use it to blow bubbles and make funny noises.
Just another fun thing that's adorable....
AND that we hope he grows out of!
I, like most other mothers I'm sure, am totally in love with this kids smile!

A list of fun things...

I just wanted to say I put a list of links to a few of my new favorite things on my blog...so you'll have to check them out:) I've been wanting to get jaxson a special book and lullaby CD for christmas or his 1st birthday (that says his name and is about him)...and I finally found the one I'm getting! It's called create a book and it is darling! The books say your babies name and information, such as birth, weight, etc. I'm getting the "special delivery" one and there are ones to help with potty training, brushing your teeth and so on... so check it out!
Also...thanks to Marcie I love jaxsons puddle jumpers and could not live without my hooter hider! Last but not least...check out Shutterfly! My brother-in-law Zenock was making fun because he doesn't think there is ONE moment of my child's life that isn't documented! Whether it's his scrapbook, DVD's, blog, or now a shutterfly book! HA HA HA (he's so right) But...Shutterfly is just one more way to preserve memories of just how adorable they are! ENJOY!!!

He did it!

I guess that I spoke to soon! Yesterday I mentioned in my post how scared I was to train jaxson to sleep in his crib. Well....Jaxson tried sleeping in his big boy crib last night for the first time. I laid him down...he closed his eyes and went to sleep...and woke up 10.5 hours later! I couldn't believe it! I was sooooo proud.
"I just woke up...."
I woke up and heard him talking to himself in his nursery. I walked in and when I looked into his crib he gave me a huge grin! It was the best!I have to admit....that was much easier than I thought it would be.
My baby is an ANGEL!!!!
p.s. there is a huge sale at Gymboree for all of you
with little ones...20% off everything!

Just for fun!

It just hit me today how much my jaxson looks like Jarom! He was playing on my bed and I couldn't believe how much he looks like and acts like his dad. I LOVE IT!

He was talking about something in this one...I couldn't quite understand....one of these days I'll learn jibberish!

He is also...VERY camera shy. He will just grin and grin and the second he sees the camera he pulls a wierd face! That explains this one....
There it is! A half smile anyways!
Today he has been such a little stinker! When jaxson was first born I was careful to avoid anything he would become too attached to....so I didn't have to deal with the habit later! Well....we don't give him binkies, I don't nurse him to sleep, we don't let him sleep with us, etc. BUT...I did let him sleep in his swing because of his reflux. OH MY GOODNESS! Breaking him of sleeping in that thing is going to kill me. Today....I put him in his big boy crib...and he scream non-stop for 45 minutes. I (to conduct a little test) picked him up and put him in his swing (not moving or anything...). Well..it took 2 seconds and he was sound asleep! The pediatrician said I have to stick with it....and never give in! She also said it would probably take 3 days. I'm ready to hire her and let her come over and reverse what I've done!

Henry Doorly Zoo....

This was our attempt at the zoo this week! I chose a day that was overcast so that we could actually survive the humidity...but by the time we got the zoo the sun had came out and it was over 100 degrees! I was just pouring...and Jaxson passed out...he slept the entire time! Better luck next time!
This was probably the only picture I took. This is our little friend Avery. She was having the time of her life, but me (stacey her mom) and jaxson were ready to call it a day! As you can see....the big monkey is in the background. I just missed him scratching his bum! :)

My New Jumperoo...

You can tell by his face that he approves of his new toy! It was so fun to see how excited he got. I think there was so much to look at he didn't know what to do first. He sat there forever with his mouth wide open!
Seeing him that happy made our day!
This is his famous look of shock...I love it! Whenever he gets REALLY excited his eyes get huge and he starts jumping around.
"This is soooo cool!"
"aaaggggghhh! A spinny thing...."
"Thanks mom and dad! This rocks..."
P.S. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you! I DID buy something from the "rainforest themed fisher price stuff". Ever since I was pregnant and saw it I thought it was just awful. I could not believe how ugly it was....but when you actually have a baby it changes things! I was all concerned over what colors it had so it stimulated him and what toys were attached...what separate attachments you could buy for it.....etc. Now...my family room looks like a circus, but I love it anyways!

What a goofball!

Jaxsons magic trick....
Pondering: "How can I get out of my bumbo....?"
"aaaghhh...I have an idea!"
"I've just got to put my arms into it....gain some momentum..." and GO!
Jaxson is so hilarious. Yesterday I was giving him time in his bumbo seat...which he likes but is always trying to get out. Well...now that he's a little bit more coordinated and mobile....he figured it out! I couldn't believe it. I thought he was going to flip out if it backwards. Of course, I wouldn't have caught him in time...because as you can tell I was holding the camera and laughing my butt off. Just the looks on his face....I knew what he was thinking and couldn't believe that at 4 months they can be that smart! It's hilarious to find out they are smarter than we think....He also had a really big day yesterday.....HE ROLLED OVER! I was so excited. Jarom brought him to my work in the evening to eat...and I put him down for tummy time. Before I knew it he leaned over and balanced on his side for a minute, smiled....and rolled to his back. I was sooooo excited. And all my students were standing around him in a circle cheering him on! It was a great moment! I am even more lucky that he did it on my break at work...so I didn't miss it! He's hilarious these days....I've found some things out about him this week: 1-He's terrified of the ice-maker on our fridge... and my blow dryer:), 2- He absolutely HATES tummy time, 3- He knows exactly how to get my attention (he fake coughs because he knows I am paranoid about choking),4-He hates laying down...always has to be sitting up on his bottom even though he can't balance and nose dives it, 5- He chews on everything!, 6- He LOVES his dad and can recognize him and smile (and his eyes light up) when he get's home from work, 7- He talks back to me amd makes the cutest sounds, 8- His hair is falling out AGAIN (this makes 3 times), 9- He loves to go on rides in his jogging stroller and be outside, 10- he likes the song, "I am like a star" while riding in the car! (pretty much the only thing that will take his mind off of being in a carseat!) I am loving being a mom more than anything.
p.s. (I bought some rice cereal...so I'm slowly making steps in that direction....but I still refuse to give it to him) :)

Jaxson's first ball game!

Go Cubs! This was jaxson's first ball-game, and he doesn't know it yet but he's a HUGE Cubs fan! Omaha has a really nice stadium called Rosenblatt where we love to go to games! Perfect way to spend summer evenings.....

Here is jaxson playing with his little ball'n glove teether thing! He loves to chew on it....and it fit the occasion!
This is my friend Brittany who we love to hang out with! She got to come to the game with us. It was a beautiful night....not to humid which is unusual for this time of year in Omaha! So we really enjoyed ourselves...

They had a big fireworks show after the game....and we've learned this month that Jaxson really Loves fireworks. They are so loud, but he doesn't even flinch. Just stares at the bright colors....I also think he's in love with Brittany!
My little baseball fan...posing with the Omaha Royals mascot!

I found it...

I found it! Here is proof that it was even hard to bend that middle finger in Utero! HA HA HA

Grandpa Bishop's B-day Card!

Ok---this was the funniest! I got home from work tonight at like 11:00 and I saw this homemade card on the counter. I was like, "what in the heck is that..." Jarom had really made a B-day card for his dad and this was the design!!! I swear...I about died. Jarom and his dad are always sarcastic and joking with one another....so Jarom thought it was funny to have jaxson flip him off. ~~How rude...use my sweet baby boy like that! I did get a pretty good laugh though. Jaxson can't seem to bend that middle finger very easily because I have several pictures that look just like this one. I even have an ultrasound....and the only thing you can see is jaxson's middle finger! What a stinker!

I'm IMMUNIZED...Wahoo!

Jaxson is so funny! I think his shots and the large dose of Tylenol must have had the reverse effect on him, because he has not stopped laughing and smiling all morning. After his 2 month appointment he slept for almost 3 days straight....this one is quite different!
They said that I could start feeding him rice cereal anywhere between 4-6 months...jarom is all for it and is excited, but I'm wierd and don't want to. I'm guessing I'll wait until closer to 5-5.5 months to give that a try! I want to keep him my baby for as long as I can :)
Jaxson weighs 16 pounds exactly now! He is 25 3/4 inches long and is in the 75th percentile for weight and 80th for height. It is always so much fun for me to find out he is growing wonderfully and is perfectly healthy! I can't stop smiling the entire day!

And it's obvious from this picture....that he can't either! Probably because when he gets shots I let him nurse pretty much the entire day...and it's his favorite thing to do.

I KNOW MY MOMMY!

All ready for church....

Daddy is making me laugh....
Today jarom and I had to speak in sacrament meeting and I asked a lady in our ward to watch jaxson....he was so darling the entire time and just laughed and smiled at her. When I stood up and started talking she said that his eyes got really big and she could tell he noticed my voice. He pulled his pouty face and stuck out his lip and started wimpering and looking around. They had to take him in the hall where he couldn't hear me.....! You other mother's will understand when I say....."moments like that make stretch marks COMPLETELY worth it!"
~~~HE KNOWS ME~~~
Happy 4th of July!
The 4th was a blast this year for us...that may have been because I kept us busy doing all of my favorite things! Swimming, eating, going for a walk, ice-cream and fireworks!
This is jaxson in his new floating crab...is that not adorable? He seemed to like it but he's not quite old enough for it yet...still about 2 more months to go.After a morning jog and the afternoon swimming...
We went to our favorite...."Famous Daves"...for some barbeque.
I think it's so funny how much we love it there! Then...
We went for a walk around the Old Market, which is historic downtown Omaha with cool little restaurants and shops. The grounds were beautiful and I loved all the flowers so I had to take pictures.
I, of couse, had to get one by the flag!
We then went for a walk around a beautiful lake that also gives boat rides. Then...
went for ice-cream and staked out our spot for the Ralston fireworks!
We got there quite early, so we had some fun playing with jaxson before they started. He was loving being outside and kept squealing and giggling out loud. It was the best!He is at the funnest age ever!
jaxson and dad playing on the blanket...
My all-time favorite picture...look at him just laughing at jarom!
loving the fireworks...his eyes kept getting huge!
Happy 4th of July!!!
